About Haritaki Powder:

The olive-like, yellow-brown fruits of the Haritaki tree are carefully dried and ground to make our powder. The evergreen tree grows up to 25 meters high and is mainly found in South Asia. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM for short), Haritaki was mentioned in literature as early as the 11th century. In Ayurveda, too, the fruit is an essential part of most healing recipes. Amla powder, Bibhitaki powder and Haritaki powder make up the well-known herbal mixture Triphala. Regular intake of Haritaki powder is primarily intended to improve oxygen uptake and oxygen transport in the blood, thus counteracting the negative aging process. “Charaka Samhita” declared it the best herb for rejuvenation and disease control. Other areas of application: high blood pressure, exhaustion/fatigue, problems falling asleep and staying asleep, athletes, intestinal problems, difficulty concentrating, gingivitis and many more. Traditionally, Haritaki powder is used as a tea. To do this, pour hot water over the powder and let it steep for about 10 minutes. The taste of the drink is difficult to describe. A combination of bitter, sweet, tart, sour and pungent is an experience for the palate! If you like, sweeten the tea with herbal syrup, for example. The addition of the powder is also very suitable for smoothies, shakes and muesli. When dosing, slowly increase up to a level teaspoon daily. Overdosing or increasing too quickly are noticeable by slight diarrhea.

Caution: Do not use Haritaki if you: are pregnant or want to have children, are breastfeeding, are dehydrated, have heavy menstrual bleeding in a woman’s cycle, have drunk a lot of alcohol, are emaciated or have lost weight as a result of illness. Taking medicinal plants in no way replaces a visit to the doctor. Ensure a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. If in doubt about taking it, contact your doctor.
