Vital substances: Hazelnuts contain vitamin E. Vitamin E is an antioxidant, it protects our body against harmful oxidations, thus against free radicals, and it stabilizes the cell membranes. Hazelnuts also help supply the body with vitamin B1, niacin, vitamin B6, biotin, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper and manganese.1
In general, nuts have been shown to lower the cholesterol level in the blood due to their polyunsaturated fatty acids, stabilize the blood sugar level, support the blood vessels, reduce the risk of stomach and prostate cancer and heart attacks and inhibit inflammatory reactions.2
Hazelnuts contain a very high antioxidant capacity of 9645 µmol TE (ORAC value = Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity).
By consuming foods rich in antioxidants, the defense mechanism in the body can be strengthened and thus an overproduction of free radicals.3

Our hazelnut kernels are very beautiful and uniform nuts. The taste is very intense and extremely aromatic. The hazelnuts are not blanched and have not been roasted.
Origin: We source our organic hazelnut kernels exclusively from the Damiano company in Sicily. We have been working closely with Damiano for a long time and we appreciate each other's very good quality. The organic hazelnut kernels are grown directly on the island and have a very good taste and quality. They are carefully harvested by hand, cleaned and checked several times.
Harvest: The hazelnut kernels have a skin and a hard outer shell. The harvest takes place between September and October. Depending on demand, the hazelnuts are first dried and then cracked if necessary or immediately after the harvest and then harvested. You do this because the shelf life and the fresh and nutty taste are retained even longer in the whole nuts. A final inspection ensures the quality and ensures a very high quality end product.
Purity: In Austria, hazelnuts are pressure treated and checked several times as standard. When printing, the interaction of pressure and time ensures absolute freedom from pests.

Why you should germinate our nuts!
inhibits and reduces phytic acids
Phytic acid is found in natural foods and inhibits the absorption of minerals in our body. A reduction in phytic acid has the advantage that the minerals it contains can be absorbed and are therefore available to us.4

Tannins are tannins that the plant uses for its own protection. If too many tannins are ingested with food, it can lead to flatulence (digestive problems) and, above all, to a reduced absorption of iron and calcium (or minerals).5

Our body needs certain reactions for a smooth process and for these reactions certain enzymes are needed. If these enzymes are inhibited, our body cannot work optimally. It is therefore important to keep this inhibition to a minimum.

During the germination process, the plant starts to flower again. Many important vital substances, such as vitamins and enzymes, are activated and mobilized. Therefore, germinated nuts are a lot more valuable than nuts that have not germinated.
Use: If you can make it a habit to put your nuts in lukewarm water the evening before and let them stand overnight, then you will have very good pre-germinated nuts the next morning. If you have sprouted more nuts than you need in the morning, we recommend that you store them without the water in the refrigerator, or for a longer period of time, it is advisable to dry the nuts on a dry surface or in the oven.
