Coconut flakes contain the following vitamins and minerals: iron, sodium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, iodine, vitamins B1, B2, B6, E and folic acid [1 to 3]. Furthermore, grated coconut is very high in fiber [2], which makes our digestive tract very happy.
Description:
The organic fair trade desiccated coconut has a very nutty, aromatic taste and is pleasantly light. The color of the rasps is white to light yellow.
Desiccated coconut contains the same nutrients and vital substances as fresh coconut, only in a concentrated form.
Origin and manufacture:
We source our organic Fairtrade desiccated coconut from Sri Lanka. The area is largely organic and FAIRTRADE certified and is farmed by the FAIRTRADE farmers who live there. The farmers belong to one of the two Fairtrade groups SOFA or MOPA. Thanks to the cooperation with Fairtrade, the farmers can earn their livelihood securely and independently. Projects such as clean drinking water, school materials for the children and educational projects can be paid for with the Fairtrade premium.
After harvesting, the coconut is opened, the coconut milk removed and the shell removed. They are then gently dried and then grated. The processing takes place with careful manual work and under high hygienic conditions. This ensures that the dried organic Fairtrade coconut flakes are of very good quality.
Purity:
In Austria, the grated coconut is pressure treated and checked several times. When it comes to printing, the interaction of pressure and time ensures absolute freedom from pests.
