Description: Our pine nuts are the "QUEEN" of pine varieties, easily recognizable by their elegant and slender shape. A truly unique treat.

Pine nuts are also characterized by a high vitamin E content [1]. Not only does this have a beneficial effect on our diet, the pine nuts themselves also benefit from it. The pine nuts contain polyunsaturated fatty acids and these oxidize very easily with oxygen. These oxidation processes are prevented by vitamin E. In addition, vitamin E protects the cells from attack by free radicals. The pine nuts are very protein-rich nuts.² Furthermore, pine nuts help to supply the body with vitamin B1, vitamin K, niacin, magnesium, phosphorus, copper and manganese, iron and zinc.¹

Origin: We source our organic pine nuts exclusively from the Damiano company in Sicily. We have been working closely with the Damiano company for a long time and appreciate the very good quality of each other. The organic pine nuts grow under the southern Italian sun on the slopes of Mount Etna - on nutritious volcanic soil. They are carefully harvested by hand, cleaned and checked several times.

Harvest: The collected cones are carefully and gently dismantled, revealing the valuable pine nuts. Before they can be eaten, however, they have to be removed from a hard shell that completely surrounds them in a complex process. The fine skin that is still around the kernels is then polished away. Finally, the kernels are carefully sorted, because not all kernels are so beautifully white to beige. A final inspection ensures quality and ensures a very high-quality end product.
