Pistachios, also when roasted and salted, are an excellent source of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. Pistachios are ideal for snacking on instead of foods such as potato crisps which are full of saturated fat.
Pistachios are particularly rich in vitamins B1, B6, manganese, phosphorous, magnesium and iron [1 and 3]. Vitamin B1 deficiency affects mental functioning, making us more irritable and moodier.
Pistachios have a very high antioxidant capacity of 7675 µmol TE (ORAC value = Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity). The consumption of foods rich in antioxidants can strengthen the body´s defence mechanisms, balancing out excess production of free radicals. The recommended daily ORAC requirement is between 5000 and 7000 .
Polyunsaturated fatty acids present in pistachios have been proven to reduce blood cholesterol levels, stabilise blood sugar values, fortify the vessels, reduce the risk of stomach and prostate cancer and infarcts, and inhibit inflammation.

Origin and processing:
Our roasted salted pistachios have an intensive, typical flavour and are of the highest quality. After being gently dried in the fields, the pistachios are roasted and salted. They are grown at one of the first farms in Spain to cultivate pistachios. Since 1988, the nuts have been farmed in Castile-La Mancha, famous for its links to Don Quixote.
