Our whole organic apricots filled with an apricot kernel are perfect as a varied vegetarian or vegan raw food snack, for sports, while hiking, rowing and rowing or simply for snacking in between. When cut into small pieces, the apricots are also ideal for use in muesli, nut and fruit bars, cakes and fruit breads. They add a fruity note to hearty dishes, especially poultry and game dishes. They are also highly recommended for making an individual tea or a tea blend.

Our wild organic Fairtrade apricots come from wild apricot trees, something you can taste immediately! The taste is much more intense and strong, slightly sour and much more aromatic than normal apricots. The colors vary between a strong golden orange and dark brown. They are still soft in consistency, but sometimes already firm and hard, but in any case less soft than ordinary apricots. Our organic apricots are filled with delicious peeled sweet apricot kernels by hand. An absolutely unique culinary delight, a specialty that was previously only reserved for noble rulers!
Origin and manufacture:
We source our wild organic Fairtrade apricots exclusively from Uzbekistan. They mature there on wild trees in the picturesque remote mountain regions around Samarkand. The area is largely organic and FAIRTRADE certified and is cultivated by the FAIRTRADE farmers who live there. The farmers belong to a large Fairtrade community, which consists of 2 groups, Dustkul Bogi and Turob Bobo. Around 1000 individual farmers and their families belong to them. Thanks to the cooperation with Fairtrade, the farmers can offer their families a secure income and their children a new perspective. After the harvest, the apricots are washed, pitted and then gently dried with the help of the sun. Shortly before the end of the drying process, the apricots are manually filled with peeled apricot kernels. The drying process used is a very environmentally friendly solar drying method that is extremely gentle on the product. In Austria, the wild apricots filled with apricot kernels are pressure treated. With pressure removal, the interaction of pressure and time ensures absolute freedom from pests.
Dried apricots contain the same nutrients as fresh apricots, only in a more concentrated form. Apricots are characterized by an interesting content of vitamin C and antioxidants. They contain the highest proportion of provitamin A of all types of fruit 1,2. Therefore, dried fruits are essential for a balanced diet. Dried apricots contain a very high antioxidant capacity of 3234 µmol TE (ORAC value = Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity). By consuming foods rich in antioxidants, the body's defense mechanism can be strengthened and an overproduction of free radicals can be balanced out.
