Our whole organic apricots filled with an apricot kernel are perfect as a varied vegetarian or vegan raw food snack, for sports, while hiking, rowing and rowing or simply as a snack in between. When cut into small pieces, the apricots are also ideal for use in muesli, nut and fruit bars, cakes and fruit bread. They add a fruity note to hearty dishes, especially poultry and game dishes. They are also highly recommended for the production of an individual tea or a tea blend.

Our wild organic Fairtrade apricots come from wild apricot trees, something you can taste right away! Their taste is much more intense and stronger, slightly acidic and much more aromatic than normal apricots. The colors vary between a strong golden orange and dark brown. They are still soft in consistency, but sometimes they are already firm and hard, but in any case less soft than ordinary apricots. So something special, our organic apricots are filled by hand with delicious peeled sweet apricot kernels. An absolutely unique treat for the palate, a specialty that used to be reserved for the noble rulers only!
Origin and manufacture:
We source our wild organic Fairtrade apricots exclusively from Uzbekistan. They mature there on wild trees in the scenic remote mountain regions around Samarkand. The area is largely organic and FAIRTRADE certified and is farmed by the FAIRTRADE farmers who live there. The farmers belong to a large Fairtrade community made up of 2 groups, Dustkul Bogi and Turob Bobo. They include around 1,000 individual farmers, along with their families. Thanks to the cooperation with Fairtrade, the farmers can offer their families a secure income and their children a new perspective. After harvesting, the apricots are washed, stoned and then gently dried with the help of the sun. Shortly before drying is complete, the apricots are filled with peeled apricot kernels by hand. The drying process used is a very environmentally friendly solar drying method that is extremely gentle on the product. In Austria, the wild apricots filled with apricot kernels are pressure treated. When it comes to printing, the interaction of pressure and time ensures absolute freedom from pests.
Dried apricots contain the same nutrients as fresh apricots, only in a more concentrated form. Apricots are characterized by an interesting content of vitamin C and antioxidants. They contain the highest proportion of provitamin A of all types of fruit 1,2. Therefore, dried fruits are essential for a balanced diet. Dried apricots contain a very high antioxidant capacity of 3234 µmol TE (ORAC value = Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacit). By consuming foods rich in antioxidants, the defense mechanism in the body can be strengthened and an overproduction of free radicals can be balanced out.
