Vital substances: Dates are also called "the bread of the desert". They are considered to be very valuable because they are easily digestible, vitamin and mineral-rich fruits, which with their sugar content quickly provide energy. A must for every desert traveler, but also for every nutrition-conscious European. In addition, dates are rich in magnesium, B vitamins and fiber, which our intestines really enjoy. The glycemic index, however, is very low.1,2 Dried dates contain an antioxidant capacity of 3895 µmol TE (ORAC value = Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity). By consuming foods rich in antioxidants, the body's defense mechanism can be strengthened and an overproduction of free radicals can be balanced out. An ORAC daily requirement between 5000 and 7000 is recommended.3
description Our organic Fairtrade date sweetener is similar to sugar and at the same time a very good sugar substitute. Wherever you currently use raw sugar, for example, you can now try our date sweetener. The pleasantly sweet taste gives your sweet creations a very special taste.
Origin and manufacture: We source our organic Fairtrade date sweeteners exclusively from Tunisia. For Tunisia, in addition to the difficult economic and political situation, it is particularly important to produce Fairtrade products. The country is characterized by tourism and the associated extremely high water consumption. On the other hand, there are small farming families who fight for traditional agriculture and a healthy approach to nature and people. The cooperation with FAIRTRADE enables the farmers and their families a secure income and the children new perspectives. The harvest of the date or the date plants is very daring from a European point of view, because the cutting is done by hand, high up in the date trees. The date is already completely dried. The drying is done by nature as long as the dates are still hanging on the trees. Removing the date from the perennial, sorting and pitting is also done by hand. A free-flowing powder is then made from the whole dates. The date sweetness is pressure treated in Austria. With pressure removal, the interaction of pressure and time ensures absolute freedom from pests.
Use: Our organic Fairtrade date sweetener is ideal for all sweet dishes, such as desserts, yoghurt variants, muesli variations and as a sugar substitute in various cakes, pastries and biscuits. Of course, it is also a very exclusive ingredient in the production of nut, fruit and power bars, in baking fillings and in energy balls. Date sugar is particularly popular in oriental and Ayurvedic cuisine.Swell:
