Bio Fairtrade Honigmelone

Our organic honeydew melons are:

Honeydew melons contain, among other things, vitamins C, B1, B2, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium and phosphorus. [1 and 2] In addition, dried melons contain the same nutrients as fresh melons, only in a more concentrated form. Especially in times when the body needs more vital substances, or a sufficient supply is not always guaranteed, we recommend dried melons or similar dried fruits. We taste our organic Fairtrade honeydew melons as fresh honeydew melons. The dried strips are very sweet, fruity, aromatic and soft. They are sticky and the flesh is light to dark yellow.

Origin and manufacture: We source our organic Fairtrade honeydew melons exclusively from Uzbekistan. The area is largely organic and FAIRTRADE certified and is farmed by the FAIRTRADE farmers who live there. The farmers belong to a large Fairtrade community made up of 3 groups, Dustkul Bogi, Turkiston Gulba and Turob Bobo. They include around 1,000 individual farmers, along with their families. Thanks to the cooperation with Fairtrade, the farmers can offer their families a secure income and their children a new perspective. After harvesting, the melons are washed, the skin is removed, the seeds removed, cut into pieces and then gently dried with the help of the sun. The drying process used is a very environmentally friendly solar drying method that is extremely gentle on the product.

Purity: In Austria, honeydew melons are pressure treated and checked several times. When it comes to printing, the interaction of pressure and time ensures absolute freedom from pests.
