Description: Our peppers (for our paprika powder) are still growing outdoors, spoiled by the sun's rays and the beautiful unspoiled nature that can be found in the gardens of the Fairtrade farmers. All this gives the peppers a very intense and very natural aroma.
The taste of the paprika powder is really intense and it smells pleasantly spicy of paprika. You will be enthusiastic! Our organic Fairtrade paprika powder is of course very finely powdered and is very suitable for refining your dishes.
Our red paprika powder is also a real eye-catcher!
Origin: We source our organic Fairtrade peppers exclusively from Uzbekistan. This is the only way we can be sure that the quality meets our high standards.
The peppers grow in the gardens of Fairtrade farmers around Samarkand. The area is largely organic and FAIRTRADE certified. The approximately 1,000 farmers belong to one of three large Fairtrade groups, Dustkul Bogi, Turkiston Gulba or Turob Bobo. Thanks to the cooperation with Fairtrade, the farmers can offer their families a secure income and their children a new perspective.
Drying: After the manual harvest, the peppers are cut open, seeded (you can also buy the pepper seeds from us), washed and then gently dried with the help of the sun. The solar drying method used is very environmentally friendly and gentle on the product. Finally, the dried pepper pieces are ground into a very fine powder.
As you can well imagine, in Uzbekistan a lot of value is still placed on manual work and so many individual work steps are carried out traditionally. Not only does this provide the urgently needed jobs for women from this region, but the vegetables themselves also benefit from direct contact with people.
Purity: Our standard processes include pressure disinfestation, which means that all of our products are pressure disinfested. When it comes to printing, the interaction of pressure and time ensures absolute freedom from pests.
