Sesame is rich in B vitamins, iron, calcium, magnesium and zinc. We can take advantage of these vital substances if we use sesame as the right ingredient and not just for decoration. Sesame has dietary fibers, which are particularly important for our digestion [1 and 2].

The oil contained in the kernels is also very valuable. It contains up to 50% omega 6 fatty acids, also known as linoleic acids. The oil is very good for our skin and hair. Sesame also contains lecithin, a fat-like substance that makes the oil contained in the sesame seeds particularly easy for our body to utilize [1 to 3].

Description:

Our Organic Fairtrade Sesame Trio is particularly nutty and aromatic. The individual types of sesame complement each other not only in color but also in taste. Our sesame ripens to its full potential under the Uzbek sun. The Fairtrade sesame differs in color from our normal sesame, because Fairtrade sesame is more like a wild plant/wild species, hence the varied color nuances. The kernels have not been hulled or subjected to any similar processing step. They are unprocessed. The grains are very crunchy.

Origin:

We obtain our organic Fairtrade sesame exclusively from Uzbekistan. This is the only way we can be sure that the quality meets our high standards.

The sesame plants thrive in fields near Samarkand. The area is largely organic and FAIRTRADE certified. The approximately 1,000 farmers belong to one of three large Fairtrade groups, Dustkul Bogi, Turkiston Gulba or Turob Bobo. Thanks to the cooperation with Fairtrade, the farmers can offer their families a secure income and their children a new perspective.

After the harvest, the sesame seeds are threshed out of the "ears" and checked and checked several times for quality and dryness. The sesame is then gently dried with the help of the sun. The solar drying method used is very environmentally friendly and gentle on the product.

The sesame varieties are gently mixed into a trio in Austria and then immediately packed.
