Pecan nuts contain vitamin B1, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, copper and manganese and they therefore help to cover our daily need for minerals and vitamins.1 In general, nuts have been shown to lower the cholesterol level in the blood due to their polyunsaturated fatty acids, stabilize the blood sugar level, support the blood vessels, reduce the risk of stomach and prostate cancer and heart attacks and inhibit inflammatory reactions. 2 The North American Indians took advantage of these properties and consumed the pecan nuts especially in the cold winter months, which ensured their survival.

origin and processing: Our jumbo pecans are extra large and a rich brown color. The taste is very pleasantly nutty and mildly aromatic and genuine. The shape of the nuts is reminiscent of walnuts. The fine, brown and edible skin, which is like a coating over the nut, is similar to that of the walnut. Our pecans come from the Santa Cruz Valley in the USA. A very exclusive product because only small yields are produced in the southern United States.

Harvest and Purity: The pecan nuts are harvested between October and November. The fruits are frozen immediately after harvest to preserve the freshness before peeling. The pecan nuts are then cracked open, cleaned, washed and dried. Arriving in Austria, the pecan nuts are pressure treated and checked as standard. When it comes to printing, the interaction of pressure and time ensures absolute freedom from pests. Organic ingredients: wild pecans

Why you should germinate our nuts!

The germination of nuts:

  • inhibits and reduces phytic acids. Phytic acid occurs naturally in foods and inhibits the absorption of minerals in our body. A reduction in phytic acid therefore has the advantage that the minerals contained can be absorbed and are therefore available to us.3

  • inhibits and reduces tannins.Tannins are tannins that the plant uses for its own protection. If too many tannins are ingested with food, flatulence (digestion problems) can occur and, above all, reduced absorption of iron and calcium (or minerals).4

  • neutralizes enzyme inhibitors. Our body needs certain reactions to function properly, and certain enzymes are needed for those reactions. If these enzymes are inhibited, our body cannot work optimally. It is therefore important to reduce this inhibition to a minimum. 5

  • promotes the production of beneficial enzymes...and increases the amount of vitamins, especially the B vitamins. In the germination process, a new flowering of the plant is set in motion. Many important vital substances such as vitamins and enzymes are activated and mobilized. Therefore, sprouted nuts are a lot more valuable than ungrouted nuts.

use: If you can get into the habit of putting your nuts in lukewarm water the night before and letting them sit overnight, you'll have very good pre-sprouted nuts the next morning. If you have sprouted more nuts than you need, we recommend storing them in the refrigerator without the water, or for a longer period of time, it is advisable to dry the nuts again on a dry surface or in the oven. Depending on the food, the germination time is 7 to 24 hours.
