The taste of our organic persimmon slices is very intense and strongly aromatic. The typical fruity persimmon taste comes into its own thanks to the gentle drying process. The structure is strong and the color of the persimmon slices is intense orange, which gets darker towards the middle. The slices are different in shape and very individual due to the dried skin. The discs are core-free and do not stick together.
Origin and manufacture:
We source our organic persimmon slices exclusively from Uzbekistan. The area around Samarkand is largely certified organic and is farmed by the organic farmers living there. The farmers in this region have been working according to organic cultivation criteria for many years and are proud of their contribution to the preservation of nature.
After harvesting, the persimmons are sliced, gently dried and handpicked. The way the fruit is dried is very important for the quality, because only optimal natural drying guarantees an intense fruity taste.
As you can well imagine, in Uzbekistan a lot of value is still placed on manual work and so many individual work steps are carried out traditionally. This not only keeps the urgently needed jobs in this region, but also the food itself, which benefits from direct contact with people.
