Vital substances:

Dried figs contain magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, iron and B vitamins. Figs are very fiber-rich fruits and they ensure a good acid-base balance, because they are among the basic foods [1 to 3].

Dried figs contain an antioxidant capacity of 3383 µmol TE (ORAC value = Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity).

By consuming foods rich in antioxidants, the body's defense mechanism can be strengthened and an overproduction of free radicals can be balanced out. An ORAC daily requirement of between 5000 and 7000 is recommended [4].


Our figs range in color from beige to light or dark brown. They are very soft in consistency, only the end of the stem, which is at the top of the fig, is hard and not necessarily intended for consumption. Inside there are small, soft, edible core parts that give the fig a crispy effect.

It can happen that figs peel off. This is quite normal and has to do with the high sugar content.
The fig has stood for prosperity and peace for millennia. The countries in the Mediterranean region have valued them for ages in fresh, but also in dried form. Whether Romans, Greeks or Egyptians, they all had a special connection to this fruit.

This is also very obvious with this unique taste, because figs are not only sweet, but also very aromatic, fruity and very nutritious. Visually, dried figs take some getting used to, in contrast to other dried fruits.

Origin, natural conditions and production:

We source our figs from Turkey, the country where most of the figs are harvested worldwide. Turkish culture is simply unimaginable without figs. The organic figs ripen in the mountains, about 150 km from the city of Izmir. In this region there are very good climatic conditions and the region is largely isolated, so that the surrounding fields have little or no influence on the trees. This is reflected in the quality and purity.  

After the harvest, the figs are checked for quality and gently dried with the help of the sun. In Austria, figs are subjected to pressure disinfestation. With pressure removal, the interaction of pressure and time ensures absolute freedom from pests.
