Apricots are characterized by an interesting content of vitamin C and antioxidants. They contain the highest proportion of provitamin A of all types of fruit1,2. Therefore, dried fruits are essential for a balanced diet.Dried apricots contain a very high antioxidant capacity of 3234 µmol TE (ORAC value = Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacit). By consuming foods rich in antioxidants, the defense mechanism in the body can be strengthened and an overproduction of free radicals can be balanced out. An ORAC daily requirement between 5000 and 7000 is recommended3.
Description: Our wild organic apricots come from wild apricot trees and you can taste it. Their taste is much more intense and stronger, slightly acidic and much more aromatic than normal apricots. The natural drying on the tree intensifies this intense taste even more. Since the apricots are not processed further, they are a really pure natural product. The colors vary between a strong golden orange and a light brown. They are soft in consistency but less soft than ordinary apricots.
origin and manufacture. We source our wild organic apricots exclusively from Uzbekistan. There they mature on wild trees in the remote mountain regions around Samarkand. The area is extensively certified organic and is only farmed for harvest by local organic farmers. The farmers in this region have been working according to organic cultivation criteria for many years and are proud of their contribution to the preservation of nature. After harvesting, the quality and degree of drying of the apricots are checked. There are no further processing steps. All the work was done by nature. This is very rare and particularly valuable because nature knows what is best for the plants and fruits. In Austria, the wild apricots are pressure treated as standard. When it comes to printing, the interaction of pressure and time ensures absolute freedom from pests.
